Yangon, Myanmar | 19th August 2014 | This is the largest producer of teak globally. In the past it was mostly exported illegally to China and Europe. Change in the law are making this harder, keeping profits in country.
Yangon, Myanmar | 18th August 2014 | Two months ago Aye Aye Khine, 35, led a group of 150 ladies to strike against unfair working conditions in the clothes factory where they worked. Labour unions and striking have recently been legalised, however the law still needs to catch up. All 150 ladies were fired after the protest, even though the factory had to close because of the loss of skilled labour.
